The writer collaged restaurant receipts, bar bills, coasters, and cafe napkins, and also logged the lunches and dinners consumed. This dinner of February 25, 1983, took place at Il Cantinone, a Sardinian restaurant in Rome. It consisted of artichokes, a pasta course with clams; roast suckling pig, broccoli, and Sardinian sweets. The writer has drawn a section of a sweet filled with orange marmalade. A long arrow suggests a climactic entry on the following page (not shown), where the writer has collaged the wrappers of a Sardinian candy called "Rau" Sardinian dialect for the "sigh" sound.

A must-do when on foreign soil that Elatia obeys: jot down every morsel and draught consumed and then add drawings like Da Vinci, if possible. Grazie.

I have fond childhood memories of a restaurant located near Porto Cervo in Sardinia called "Il Cantinone".
